Behavioral targeting displays your ad to consumers who have shown recent online behaviors and interests that are relevant to your business type.
Behavioral targeting uses information collected on an individual’s web-browsing behavior, such as the pages they have visited or the searches they have made, to select which advertisements to display to that individual.
If you would like to see this in action, do some searches for credit cards, best credit card, credit card interest rates, and so on one after the other using your favorite search engine, then surf off to another website that is completely unrelated to credit cards. Pay attention to the advertisements presented on the next few sites.
The screen shot above of the front page on CNN.com shows an offer based on searches I conducted writing this article. You can see how the search history has dictated the advertisement shown to me after I concluded the search for credit cards earlier.
